These three dishes are always included in osechi-ryori.
Here's how to cook mitsuzakana.



(Herring roe)

This is a dish of seasoned herring roe. It is cooked to wish for the prosperity of one's descendants.

1D Soak the herring roe in water overnight. (This is to remove salt from the roe.)
2D Soak the herring roe in fish stock (dashi), soy sauce and sweet rice wine.
