Kosho-ji is where Asaichi was first held. There is a very big gingko tree in the temple called "Koshoji no chichiicho." The gingko is about 1,000 years old and the trunk is 2 meters wide, so it may be the largest gingko in the world. According to the tale of Kosho-ji, this gingko has miraculous powers.
1,000 years ago, there was a mother who couldn't produce enough milk for her baby. A priest came there to help her get well. After the priest died, people in the village planted a gingko on his grave to commemorate him. As the gingko grew, it made a pillar of milk, and it was very effective for women who couldn't produce milk.
